Authorities say a man who allegedly robbed a gas station store in Flagstaff and threatened people with a screwdriver was shot and killed by a sheriff’s deputy on Wednesday morning.
Around 5 a.m., Flagstaff police say an officer responded to a call that a man, later identified as 51-year-old Donald Wayne Henry of Missouri, had broken a gas station window and was stealing items from the store near Highway 89 and North Cummings Street. At about the same time, the Coconino County Sheriff’s Office got a report about a person threatening to stab people with a knife at a business in the same area.

If the non lethal (taser) fails and the perp lunges at you with any melee weapon then they deploy lethal force (gun). This can happen if the guy is either high on drugs or just resistant to the electro shocks.

It’s unnecessary to use such force on anyone who has a melee weapon. It’s still a weapon, but as long as you stay a safe distance away you won’t be harmed. The same cannot be said about suspects with guns; this guy was not one of them. Pigs are too trigger-happy to live in reality when they’re “in danger”.

A taser. There are ways to subdue a person without critically injuring or killing them.
