If you're looking to join a gang that speaks in poems and misplaces their commas, I'd say you're a shoo-in.

Kidding. I'm leaning towards he either knew the cop beforehand and had a beef or suicide-by-cop. I can't think of many gangs that would have "kill a cop" as their initiation. It would bring too much heat to the neighborhood.
