It's merely a statement. Example, someone yelling out "Oh my God!" in surprise of something unusual or frightening. "Everyday we stray further from God" is a meme that means we are doing harmful things that are considered taboo for modern society, like mutilating ones own flesh.
I would understand if the person preached that "Jesus loves you", but they did not, therefore i don't understand your stance. I'm agnostic, personally i can tell when someone is shoving their religion down my throat and when theyre merely expressing themselves.
