do you do any kind of wound treatment after this? just curious as to how you avoid infection

Well typically my wounds heal fine but this one got very infected and has been slowly healing for months (I was dumb and showered with it uncovered). I typically put some kind of dressing (gauze or large bandaids) on my wounds and if necessary I use bandages to keep it in place which also applies pressure to stop bleeding.
