On the morning of yesterday, the body of a 28-year-old Vilhenian was found dumped in a ditch about 2 km from the highway that connects the cities of Campos de Julio and Sapezal, both in Mato Grosso.
The victim, identified as Paulo Cesar Ribeiro Tenorio, had a bullet puncture in his forehead. The perpetrator of the shooting that caused the death presented himself to the police and gave his version. Folha do Sul Online had access to official information and video that shows what happened.
According to the owner of a farm in Campos de Julio, on Wednesday, 17, he had arrived at night at home, where his mother also lives, a 67-year-old woman, as the dogs began barking and running towards the gate of the property. At this time, the 45-year-old jackaler armed himself with a.38 caliber revolver.
Confirming the version presented by the victim, the video shows the Vilhenian looking at the Hilux pickup in the garage and then with a 40 point pistol in hand, heading towards the kitchen. The video also reveals that the thief finds the owner of the house and the vehicle in front of him. The victim makes two shots, and the second hits the head of the Vilhenian, who falls. His two associates run away.
Realizing that the assailant is already dead and fearing for the safety of his mother, who had been left alone at home, the owner of the pickup throws the body into the ditch and returns home.
The victim said she suspected the three outlaws intended to take, in addition to the Hilux, the R$ 40 thousand in cash that he had withdrawn in the bank to make the payment of the wages of his employees. He even takes the officers where he had left the body and admits that the revolver used to defend himself was not legalized.
