Dumbass pulls out a gun on gas station security guard over parking dispute and gets blasted. Philadelphia, PA. USA, 9 April 2024

PHILADELPHIA - Gunfire broke out at a Fairmount gas station, killing one person and injuring a private security guard.

The shootout took place at a Sunoco gas station on the 900 block of College Avenue, about 7 p.m. Tuesday evening, according to officials.

The armed guard, a 30-year-old man, was on duty inside the store when an armed man, 39, walked into the location with a gun.

Deputy Commissioner Frank Vanore says the suspect confronted the guard after an altercation about the location of a parked barbecue truck.

Surveillance video provided to FOX 29's Steve Keeley shows the moment the armed suspect walked into the gas station, confronting the security guard before gunfire erupted.

Police say gunfire was exchanged between both men, according to video from inside the store.

The security guard, licensed to carry and employed by Pennsylvania State Agency, a security company working with the gas station, was shot in the leg. He was taken to Temple University Hospital and listed as stable.

The 39-year-old man was shot multiple times in the face and in the legs. He died at the hospital.

In the gunfire exchange, one bullet made its way across the street, hitting a second-floor bedroom window. Officials said no one was injured in the home.

Police are actively investigating the scene, including the inside and the outside of the gas station. They did find multiple weapons at the scene, but haven't made any arrests.

No charges have been filed in connection to this incident.

Well, the threat was still alive, moving and talking, you shoot untill the threat is not able to fight. Which he still was.

If someone threatens you with a gun, what makes you think he won't use it now that he actually confronts that his life is in danger.

right. there are many vids of people who cooperate then get shot in the head

what this means is that since even one of these vids exist, it is evident that if someone pulls a gun then you should mag dump their center of mass then ask questions

or get the darwin award

also, if someone is willing to pull a gun on some stranger, then they should be put down like a dog that bites

Agreed, you can't expect to threaten someone armed without getting shot

I believe that standard doctrine in this situation is to shoot until the threat is neutralized, ie the shooter is obviously dead or the gun is no longer in their possession. Even if someone is on the ground they still might have the ability to continue shooting at you.

Gotta make the most of the opportunity. He may never get one like this again.
