It was either S. Africa, or one of the countries close to it that was a very successful producer of farm crops, such as wheat or similar, when the white farmers were running things - and the farms were doing so well that the country was exporting crops - and after the natives took over, so many of the farms failed that the country is now starving and has to import grain.
