A criminal known only as "Fatty Crime" died after an exchange of gunfire with a plainclothes police officer on the morning of last Friday (22). He was preparing to rob a lottery house in Jardim das Imbuias, South Zone of São Paulo. According to police, around 8 a.m. Gordinho and the cronies parked a truck in front of the place. Afterwards, they tried to enter the establishment to surrender the employees and gain access to the safe. To get into the lottery, the bandits tried to force the people who were in line waiting for the opening of the place to enter as well. However, one of them was an off-duty MP who soon drew his gun. There was an exchange of gunfire, one of the thugs shot at the officer, but the gun failed. The PM managed to hit Gordinho who fell while trying to get into the vehicle.
According to the Military Police, the gang fled as soon as they saw Gordinho dead. The case is investigated by the 101st DP (Jardim das Imbuias) as attempted robbery.
