I'm shocked it lasted that long, long before the end it was a complete shithole and had converted to an at best nsfw YouTube with dumbass fake videos and tags, and most gore and violent videos removed or blocked. By the end you could only read comments if you signed in, and they were full of ads and random irrelevant shit…

I spent SO MUCH time there.
That website faced so many issues. Advertisers demanded censorship of racism, and I think it was bought by Russian interests a year or two before changing to Itemfix.
Hence, a significant emphasis on pushing Russian talking points.
But there was probably lots of pressure to censure gore content from advertisers.
I'm 99% sure the website owner was 200% sick and tired of the drama years before he sold it off.
