He ran in and shot all limp wristed. Semiautomatics rely on part of the recoil to cycle and for the bottom to be held in place while the top is free to slide back. So if you are all limp wristed it softens the recoil by allowing the entire gun to go backwards rather than just the parts that need to. This reduces movement of the top relative to the bottom, causing a short cycle.
Tldr: His gun jammed because he held it like a little bitch.
