I heard you feel a punch first, like an invisible fist punched you. Only later do you realize you were shot. It depends on what is hit. But often times the pain does not set in as quickly as the feeling that something is wrong with you. Usually the body reacts to this by a bad gut feeling. So you can image someone hits you in the stomach and you look down and suddenly you see blood and of course it's also deafening loud so you know what happened. You start to feel really bad. Think of a bad diarrhea attack or something. Then if you bleed out you basically suffocate with your extremities getting cold, your heart trying to beat ever faster, breathing faster, vision gets blurry, body shaking, cold, so cold... the end.

Actually my first thought was: that is not very professional. In a restaurant, no mask, lots of witnesses who could try to stop him. Also, even if he shot in the torso first he could have still finished the job. But I guess this was just a gangster and not a professional hitman.
