I will say there is some truth to the idea that he is likely at the very least gang affiliated, young black men aren’t exactly attractive targets for robbery nor would a fancy gun be as I saw someone say he wanted to steal his gun. That's what these morons don't understand. Stripping law-abiding citizens of firearms means only the government and criminals will have guns. That leaves the good people, who are just trying to live a decent life with their family and job, at the absolute mercy of the criminals and government.
Everyone hates on the USA, it's trendy, envy is potent- but you can't deny that the men who wrote our Constitution weren't brilliant and were able to pretty much accurately predict what would happen in the federal government grew unchecked. They set up all kinds of limits and such to try and contain government growth, with the final measure being civilians owning guns. Tyrants hate when the people they rule over have the ability to fight back.
Throughout history, look at all the mass disarming. What happened to the populations who disarmed shortly afterward? It's never good. During WW2, the USA forced all Japanese people living in the USA to disarm. And then, they got rounded up and thrown into fucking camps, and they couldn't resist because they had no fucking weapons.

He had great situational awareness. The only thing I'm going to criticize is the lack of retention on his holstered weapon, even if your wearing gym shorts you can still wrap a belt around your torso to retain your firearm. Good in him though from becoming a victim.
I've been a permit holder for 25 years and sometimes wonder why I still carry since I've never been close to a situation were i needed to "present" my pistol. But the time may come about and it will only takes less than zero to react. Practice with your gear, shoot often and maintain discipline. It's not show and tell out here.
