weird that this got so many downvotes - this is a fact! Not only that, but less than 5% of US military deaths are from hostile action - i.e., 95% died from things like suicide, illness, etc. My own uncle was wounded during active duty in Afghanistan: he broke his ankle by stepping in a hole while walking to the latrine at night!
