Exactly. People group all gun crimes together but for the most part gangs keep shit in their own neighborhoods. Where I’m at in Ms it almost never goes on in places where everybody frequents. Too much risk to shoot up a place where almost everybody you don’t know and aren’t targeting also keeps a gun on them.

True however a bigger problem from this fact is that gang violence is often grouped in with “mass shootings” in order to conflate the statistics of gun violence in the US. The reality is mass shootings and gang violence are ENTIRELY different issues that we face. A gang member running up and shooting 3 other gang members is in no way comparable a mentally deranged basket case walking into an elementary school and killing innocent children. They are two entirely separate issues with entirely different solutions.
