I thought the same thing, man. He wouldn't even have to enter the store to shoot the clerk. Just fire in the general direction and the size and momentum of the bullet would just annihilate everything.

Deagles come also in .44 and .357 Magnums, the latter is way cheaper than .50 A.E. same comes for its ammo.
Of course that doesn't exclude the possibility that it could be an Airsoft, since the bad guy ran instead of shooting.
