He got 18 months in prison for felon in possession of a firearm for the few seconds that it took him to grab the gun from the guy in the back and put it in a trash can next to the car. They determined in court that the guy in the back believed he was being set up and shot the driver and passenger before one of the guys in the front also shot the guy in the backseat. They basically determined that the three men in the car all killed each other. Richard was found to not fired a single round. Pretty nuts.
