Businessman William Garzón Ojeda, son of former legislator William Garzón Ricaurte who died in January of this year, was murdered by hired assassins.

The crime occurred on Thursday afternoon, August 11, in Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas, 152 kilometers from Quito. Security cameras installed in the place recorded the attack that occurred around 15:22 when a white minicompact car stopped next to Garzón Ojeda, 29 years old, who was on the corner of Lorena Avenue.

Two men on board a motorcycle approached their victim from behind and one of them got off and shot Garzón Ojeda in the head, who fell a few seconds later. The killer fled on the same motorcycle and in the same direction he arrived. The minicompacto turned around and started its way in the opposite direction on the same Lorena Avenue.

Garzón Ojeda was taken to two hospitals and died in the second one.
