UAF POV: Atleast 2 Ukrainian soldiers left to die by their occupied comrades in Avdiivka. DEC 2022

To be fair it doesn’t sound like it’s going too good over the radio either, sad how young the guy filming sounds especially near the end.

Original video is a bit longer with the cameraman starting in a wooded trench line alongside others, around 17 minutes total.

Poor fucking boys, dying cold and afraid in the mud. I know that’s, like, every war that’s ever happened, but it never stops being sad.

Especially now we live in the future, and have HD GoPro™ footage with crisp audio so you can really HEAR the bass of the gurgly agonal respiration

Some serious courage needed to walk into that. Some of those wizzes made me dodge and I am multiple thousands of km away

Honestly, cameraman just kept going forward and had a job to do I guess, I gotta respect it regardless of how I feel and the shit I can say.

I wonder if he was a young officer or something- he seemed to be walking to members of his team, trying to help them as they are under a heavy assault. He seems real cool, maybe he's been in action before this. He's nearly shot at least once right in the beginning, he's crawling and you can see a round impact beneath him, throwing up sparks as it probably hit a buried rock. He hardly reacts. You can hear the "whipcrack" sound, almost constantly- that's the sonic boom of a bullet passing by you really fucking close. A lot of them are semi-auto, which is worrying- it means that the shooters are more likely to be calmly aiming their shots instead of just shooting in the direction of where they think you are.

He gives the first two terrified guys a bunch of magazines, and I think he even tosses them an extra rifle he'd been carrying. He gives a lot of ammo out there, makes me wonder how much he'd have for himself after that?

But then, he makes the very common, very lethal mistake in modern combat- approaching a downed comrade while still under gunfire. It's courageous as hell, but also a little stupid when you sit back in your comfy armchair, far from danger, and think about it. He's approaching a man who's either been shot or hit with shrapnel, badly, his moans sound agonal, he's eating dirt and squirming around... probably going to die.

I think the camera man realized that as he came up on him, maybe intending to comfort him as he died, or to see if he was awake enough to maybe start crawling... but the camera man catches a bullet. Think about it- he crawls in front of a guy who's probably been shot, very recently. This means that someone not only saw him clearly, but had a clear shot on him, and made it, striking him. There's a good chance that shooter might still be looking in that direction- a prone man aiming a weapon looks very similar to a man dying face down in the dirt.

I sort of saw this coming. I think maybe the camera man knew the danger he was in as well, but you get emotional for your brothers-in-arms, you want to help, especially when they're hurt. So, you crawl right into the crosshairs of the guy who shot him, and catch a bullet yourself, joining your friend in dying in the mud. There are a bunch of other videos on this site where a very similar scene plays out, a man is shot and wounded by a sniper, his friend, startled, goes to check on him, exposing himself, and is immediately shot as well.

No more brother wars.
