Great post and an even greater conclusion to the story. While the age of social media and advancements in online technologies have made many of our lives easier/better/more enjoyable...there are some very negative aspects of it. I personally believe social media is the reason for the rates of gun violence, suicides, and violence in general going up. Being born in 1985 for me meant highschool with a crappy flip phone or the iconic Nokia....that all had crappy picture quality cameras on them at best. If someone was in a fight, bullied, embarrassed in anyway they would be told it would blow over...and no one would be talking about it after a week or two. I can't tell my kids the same thing, because there are countless stories of tragic suicides or acts of vengeance as a result of posts made online. My goal is now to not only raise my kids with respect and kindness in mind, but for them to also stand up for those being harassed or bullied. I feel like if we could get enough kids to look down upon someone being bullied/harassed online, at school, or in any other environment, and stand up to said types of people it would help raise generations that raise their kids in the same manner. This would ultimately help fight the mental struggles that people face when they feel a huge weight on their shoulders of a post made about them or even a rumor started, in which they feel they must act in some form or fashion. Well damn, now I'm looking back and seeing my long ass rant after watching a few seconds of man flying down an escalator....and initially thinking Ivan reminded me of Steph Curry when he shoots a three and turns around to start running back without even watching to see if it went in or not....in those moments, he just knows it's in.

the flipside of technology is that serial killers don't exist anymore (in the 1st world). murderers almost always get caught, if not the first time, the second time.
