The future is such a fucking rip off!

We're back to trench warfare and international conflict?

I want a united, single raced world, flying cars and intergalactic travel!

As I heard from one person analyzing the war, β€œit proves that there is still room for a man with a gun and a will in a foxhole on the modern battlefield.”

There will always be a need for boots and guns, but with the crazy tech available, it seems silly.

Rain missiles for weeks...

Repeat as necessary.

Well, the fancy stuff is actually liable to run out over the long term. That’s where, β€œoutdated” bullshit comes in. Dumb rounds for artillery? T72s, T90s? Junk. But guess what, for every modern round or tank you can churn out, my tractor factory can churn out 10 times that much in outdated junk. And in a long term conflict, that makes a big difference. Same thing with conscription. In a serious conflict, you’ll quickly run out of volunteers, and that’s when the benefit of having a decent conscription program in place comes in. Of course, the infantryman becomes less and less important. But he’ll almost certainly always have a job.

If you are a legitimate and forever forward thinking superpower, there is no excuse for running out of shit!

Want peace? Prepare for war!

I know right... all these years you are being taught how we are advancing forward...

Human rights.

Then you are taught about our dark past.. .WWII...

Then you are like Soviet Union and its totalitarian regime is a heritage of our past but the world is healing...

Nope. We are back in that and never left. 30 years of progress, just lost.

Well as the saying goes, "The more things change, the more they stay the same."

I think the issue there is assuming humans should be the ones to carry things forward.

We're still slightly evolved chimps with some level of genius when it comes to innovation and technology.

The downside is we tend to use that to find new and remarkable ways to efficiently kill as many people as possible.

Humans invented the nuclear bomb. Really think about that for a second... the smartest, brightest humans thought it would be a fantastic idea to create a weapon that can kill millions in a matter of minutes.

If we reached space we'd only be seeing tribalism between planets, with Mars and Earth launching planet-cracker class missiles at each other...

If (((we))) reached space...

We (humans) are our own great filter. Never gonna make it into space unless we go there for war lmao.

You expected more than trench warfare from Ruskies?

They stopped innovating once the USSR collapsed. I swear.

By that logic, everyone did...

You are aware that both Russia and China are leaps and bounds ahead of America in terms of war tech, right??
