I realize people who watchpeopledie aren't the most morally acceptable people on the internet (not that I expect anything), but I still want to put this out here
Edit: People in watchpeopledie talk a lot about how the Russians soldiers who were conscripted are a bunch pigs that should be slaughtered. Failing to realize that the person getting torn to pieces by a bomb, incinerated in a burning tank, and who stands on the other side of the barrel is "a fellow man" who has "a father and a mother and a family perhaps". Those people would become the same people who would take joy in killing another person because he wears a different uniform.

Exactly this. My great grandfather had a German soldier in WW2 that knocked on the door and he invited him in and that guy basically broke down, crying in the living room because he didn't want to kill people. The soldiers were basically forced to fight a war they didn't want to partake in and I bet many more felt like this random soldier and broke down like that.
