Why, though?

Why not use rope? What benefit is there doing the way this idiot did it? Do they not require some sort of safety at these things (I am a layman in the wall climbing thing)?

From his body language, it looks like he forgot to tie in, and thought :marseymindblown: that he WAS roped - and would :marseymid: be let down gently.

I thing i leanerd in AP psychology is Automaticity refers to the ability to perform tasks without conscious thought due to extensive experience and practice. When tasks become automatic, you can perform them quickly and efficiently, often while your attention is directed elsewhere but absent mindness, this really has more to play in a role like setting up the perfect angle for the camera casuing a lapse in memory, Absent-mindedness it is a type of memory lapse that involves a breakdown at the interface between attention and memory. This can occur when you're preoccupied or your attention is divided, leading you to forget details of tasks you routinely perform, even though you feel like you've done them. Basically becoming muscle memory which can be a blessing or in this case a huge fuck up.
