Apologies if I am not entirely coherent as I am inebriated at the moment.
I do remember it, I was in middle school during swine flu and was I think a sophomore when avian flu was around. I remember the gyms being converted into a dozen or more injection stations and needing a permission slip from your parents that even if your parents didn't sign they'd still try to line you up for injection.

ok then. and yes i remember the swine flu. i got it. i was bed ridden for 3 days and sweating like ... well a pig all throughout. i had to crawl around my house cuz i was too weak to move i had my bath robe on all throughout because i was just poring sweat. sickest ive ever been

Sounds like when I got covid in 2022. Wrapped in a thick blanket with my heater on soaking everything in sweat but felt like I was fucking frozen to the bone shivering.
