Having recently lost my Daddio, this was a really profound clip for me. I'm 38, and don't have any kids of my own, but my Dad was also 39 when I was born - and the week before he died, I promised him that I would be a father, one day. I have no point of reference to the grandeur of sacrifices he went through for me, and while I don't understand the spectrum of love and responsibility that caused this guy to dive on top of his son, I respect such an all-encompassing instinct, enormously. Yeah, it's just a video clip, but this one really moved me.

Thanks. This is him:

Dude was a beast. Played around 200 shows annually from when he was 16 until the week before he died at 74, driving himself to nearly every show he played. He was one of the most influential singer/songwriters in American history.

That song made me mourn for times when people still had their faults but were proud of a hard day's work and raising a loving family.

Yeah, my phone was fucking up hahah. If you want one more, this is a really great video of my Dad playing live for the Philadelphia Folk Festival just a year or two after I was born. It's a great example of what a fantastic storyteller and guitarist he was. And when he passed from cancer, it was one of those things that people all around the world and from all walks of life felt. Anyways, I always really liked this song (and I always laugh at his "accent", because the dude isn't from the Midwest, he's from Massachusetts, and I always razzed him for doing that live haha). Thanks for givin' my old man a spin! 🤘🏻🎸😎
