The fact that he’s a smuggler likely means that he’s a degenerate us citizen looking for a quick buck. Immigrating to the US legally is damn near impossible, and is a complete fallacy. You’ve seen the shit the cartel do in Mexico, why is it a surprise Mexican citizens are trying to escape that bullshit by any means necessary? It’s a scary coincidence because this is exactly the plot point in sicario: day of the soldado (I watched it for my first time last week lol). We’re witnessing a state of panic much like what occurred in Afghanistan where the taliban captured Kabul, however this is a progressively long and arduous example of that scenario.
