Two people who tried to build a primitive cable car on agricultural land in Güneysu district of Rize were seriously injured by being electrocuted.

The incident occurred in the Ortaköy village of the district yesterday morning. According to the information received, the men from the village named Muhammet Erkan and Ali Demirkan started to build a primitive cable car, which they aimed to carry to the tea garden on the hillside land. The steel rope that Erkan and Demirkan wanted to stretch in the creek bed where they were trying to build the primitive cable car came into contact with the electricity line passing through the area they were in and went into the current. Noticing Erkan and Demirkan, who fell into the stream bed after being caught in the current, the surrounding citizens reported the incident to the 112 emergency call center.
