This is why I've never tried to strangle myself in a suicide attempt... ODing or even slicing into an artery or vein seems easier but also you have calm afterwards vs panic... I mean if you can get past the initial panic of self-protection most have.

Whenever you die from blood loss you actually suffocate internally because your organs are deprived of blood. So your heart races at an ever higher rate, your body cramps and shivers and panic sets in, too. You should read up on reports from soldiers that were saved last minute.
