As much as I agree with your comment some people aren't fortunate enough to have friends or family that care. Some people aren't lucky enough to have success in dating and have ex's to remember them, the dating market is skewed against hetero men these days. Some people are lonely, and trying to live for the sake of not hurting others will only take you so far. And living for the sake of outliving someone you hate will only take you so far also.
I personally am fortunate to never felt suicidal or depressed, I've have many friends, supportive family, I was lucky in the looks department in face and tall height, I'm gay and the gay dating scene is relatively easy, I have options, opportunity and a support system, but not everyone has that. Especially today, the loneliness epidemic has especially hit straight men hard, especially when it comes to dating, it's no wonder the male suicide rate has skyrocketed.
I agree with your sentiment of spreading positivity, I just think it's more complicated.
