Once the brain is deprived of oxygen it shuts down resulting in pass out which means u can't move or anything cuz its ya brain is dying u don't have reflexes at all

The main principal of death by hanging is a lack of oxygen getting to your brain.
Your body needs oxygen all over. Your lungs bring it in from the air and attach it to your blood, then your blood goes through your heart, then up to your brain to oxygenate there, then down through the rest of your body to keep it all working.
If you can't breathe, when your blood has circulated back to the lungs, there's much less oxygen to absorb. This is when your body starts to panic., e.g., REFLEX. You'll start to shake involuntarily and uncontrollably, as the body is trying to get oxygen from anywhere it can.
After your body is panicked, it starts to shut down - heart and brain go last, at which time you're dead.

To go more into details the lungs don't oxygenate the blood the heart does the brain and heart does not dye last everything else does that's why if u do CPR ( resuscitation) in time on some that's let's say drown person ( after empting their lungs of water) u can bring them back to life cuz the brain is still alive and so is the heart only thing is the brain is unconscious ( not responsive) which is why u do CPR to try and resuscitate the casualty cuz it brings air into the lungs and the pressure of the cpr pushes the blood around the body resulting in the heart getting oxygenated blood around to the brain which then makes the brain responsive again which means the heart is responsive again which makes it beat

The blood goes through the heart to get oxygenated first of all secondly the brain can survive for around 3 mins without oxygen forthly the heart takes the oxygenated blood and punmps it as well as oxygenating the blood that's already been around the body fifthly the blood keeps the lungs heart and other organs alive before going to the brain 6thly the human body has roughly around 6+ pints of blood both are which is oxygenated and non oxygenated blood
