In Krasnoyarsk, a man named Nikolai jumped to his death from the 24th floor of his apartment. He had been suffering from chronic depression — unable to hold a stable job because of it, which only worsened his mental issues. He was living with his wife at the time, and the two had persistent money problems due to only one stable income being brought in. Come her 39th birthday, the man realized he did not have enough money for a gift. Unable to stand the shame of not being able to get her something for her birthday, the man snapped and decided to throw himself from the window of their shared apartment. The impact was so strong that the man's skull immediately cracked open upon hitting the pavement, causing bits of his brain to spread across the parking lot.
