The whole hanging part starts at 55 seconds into the video. However the whole dying part is long as hell. Suicide by hanging is probably the longest way to go out especially with how your body reacts to not getting enough oxygen.

Every video I see fucks up the technique. The knot should be at the back of the neck and you should jump to try and break your neck, or at least cut off blood flow rapidly. Instead they compress their windpipe and suffocate. Always sad to see them regret it and try to regain some footing or grab onto the rope.

I heard that breaking your neck only makes you unable to struggle because you're paralyzed? Or was that only for botched executions when they used the gallows?

Man this one was the hardest to watch. You could see the seizures and then you could see her wake up from being unconscious and you don't know if she was flailing around because it was part of the seizures or she was trying to get to the ladder because she changed her mind and it took her so long to die it was like she was suffering so much damn why did she have to do that

Sad, the brain and body takes so long to give up, but the person themselves is out so quickly meanwhile their brain is sending their hands up trying to survive

Sad very sad

I think its kinda scary how like, even if someones obviously unconscious from the first 20-40 seconds when hanging, their arm grabs the rope above their neck. Like what do you think is going on in the guys head in that moment. Is it a normal reaction of your body? Or is it like a last sense of regret of your brain telling you "what have i just done, i cant move but i want to try and keep myself alive"? I see that in a lot of hanging videos. :marseyworried:

It's you panicking and trying to hang on to life but not having enough oxygen/blood in your brain to coordinate your limbs to save yourself then you finally pass out

It's horrible but at the last momment you will always cling on to life no matter what, you gotta remember, once you let your boddy cling off the rope you made your decision.

It ain't easy wearin' green...

Seriously though, it's sad - seems like she might actually have been trying to get back on that ladder at one point. Maybe use a slipknot with a bow-type arrangement and a couple of loops around the hand so that with one pull the bow unties and one could achieve release from the support fixture. Maybe they're not thinking rationally like they're going to regret it or have second thoughts in the first place - I mean, if they're ready to go this far, they're already gone in one sense.
