Chinese man jumps from five-storey building (Manila, Philippines)

A 43-year-old Chinese national jumped from the fifth floor of a condominium building at the corner of Padre Algue Street, Tondo, Manila on Thursday morning.

The victim is married, unemployed and a resident of a condominium in the said area.

According to the initial report, the suspect and his live-in girlfriend had an argument that allegedly led to the beating and stabbing, and when the police responded, the suspect allegedly got scared and ran to the rooftop and threatened to jump off the five-storey building.

His live-in girlfriend even tried to stop him from carrying out his alleged plan, but he suddenly jumped as the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) and police officers were unable to catch him due to the speed of the incident.

P/Capt. Dennis Turla, chief of the Manila Police District (MPD) Homicide Section, said they received a call from the MPD Police Station 2 regarding the incident at 7 a.m. Unfortunately, the Chinese national lost his life when he was brought to the hospital.

The police are still investigating the incident.
