I remember when this first came out, the article said they were estranged and the wife kept threatening she'd do it over and over again. He just wanted proof he didn't do it. Also it would be hard to hang an adult without leaving any signs of struggle.

Okay, but the fact that he was thinking about going to jail is kind of incomprehensible to me. That might be a normal thing for most people to think about, but not me. Not in that moment. Some other 3rd party would probably have to be the ones to call the police because I would just be sobbing and maybe even jump from the window. What does it even matter what happens to you at that point? Who cares if you go to jail or die?
