UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — A 17-year-old girl died after falling from an apartment building on the Upper East Side, a New York Police Department spokeswoman said
The girl was discovered unconscious and unresponsive in the rear of a building on 82nd Street, near Park Avenue and she was pronounced dead at the scene, the spokeswoman said.
The teen's injuries were indicative of falling from "an elevated position," she said.
Detectives do not believe that any criminality is involved and they are investigating her death as a possible suicide, according to the spokeswoman.
One neighbor told The New York Post, “I was coming out of my apartment and there were three ambulances on the block. It’s horrible. It’s absolutely horrendous.”

To me it doesn't look like she intentionally let go. It appears the downward jolt from climbing down loosened her grip and she fell.

why would she climb downward if shes trying to save herself though, i get what you mean about how it looks like she just lost her footing, but she was clearly up there long enough to gain a crowd and cops on the roof

I never said she was trying to save herself. She put herself in that situation I'm just saying she didn't intentionally let go. Not saying she didn't want to die but that definitely wasn't when she intended to end it.
