Not like they don't care, they are just too afraid to get involved, possibly lose their social credits or w/e so they avoid interacting with people in these kind of situations.
So it's more of a "they can't care, they are not allowed to" most the times.
PLUS, so many suicides happen so often, the culture itself is desensitized.

Amen, im still suprised when something happenes and instantly someone helps or shit.
Usualy it takes them ages to do sth in a crowded area etc. Im gonna search for something, but u surely know it. Some chinese dude on a huuuge road started stabbing people and everybody just stares and watche until pov car driver runs him over multiple times.
Its just so sad ngl. 0 empathy in many cases. Id love to know what all played into that besides the more obvious points that this shithole of humanity exists
