His body was still moving throughout the video, is he still alive and feeling all of this throughout ? I’m curious don’t the body’s natural instincts kick in to grab the rope to try and survive ? I mean I know it was obviously intentional, but if he’s alive feeling all that would he not want to stop the pain ? Idk I’ve always thought hanging deaths were pretty quick but it seems like this wasnt

I think it could be some involuntary movement like how a seizure makes your body move and some movement comes from the momentum of the swinging. I bet it’s super painful when you first fall. Especially when the rope gets tighter and tighter. Then you just accept your fate towards the end. Some people chase a high type of feel by choking themselves. You see a lot of those idiot sexual freaks accidentally kill themselves that way.
I hope I don’t come off like I’m downplaying hanging. I just like to try to educate people. If you’re suicidal just know that the feeling of despair will pass. Don’t be gay and cringe. There’s many interesting things to experience. Chasing those experiences is most of the fun.

Well you only really die quick if you hang yourself and fall deep enough to snap your neck. Just hanging yourself chokes you slowly to death.
Your body automatically tries to free itself and wiggles but that rope actively cuts off your air supply while your entire body mass hangs down from it. If you don't have air you lose strentgth quickly and black out.
That body movement you see after 20 to 30 seconds aren't concious movements anymore. It's just the body jittering in a last attempt to get air.

isnt the lack of blood circulation the cause of death, rather than the airways being blocked?
edit: just checked wiki. so apparently both the airways and blood circulation are being cut off. You need about 2kg of pressure to cut off blood circulation and 15kg for airways.
Having the airways cut off is very uncomfortable, but since the blood circulation to the brain is cut off aswell, you will be unconscious very quickly.
good thing to know, i guess ill just wrap a belt around my neck when the time comes.
