CPTM passengers suspected robbery before being run over by train
A passenger told Brasil Urgente that the train was stopped for about five minutes, until people started to force the doors open.
Gislaine was one of the people on the CPTM train where a confusion over seats ended with a man being run over on the tracks. To Brasil Urgente, the passenger talked about moments of terror and screams.
“I saw everyone running and I didn't know what it was. I thought it was a robbery. I heard people shouting that there was a man with a gun: ‘If he shoots, I can be hit by the bullets” said Gislaine.
Faced with the commotion, Gislaine said she was the first to press the emergency button. In the interview, she said that the train was stopped for about five minutes, until people started to force the doors open.
For the police, what gave rise to the disturbance was not a robbery, but a fight over preferential seating involving two men.
The two men who allegedly started the disturbance were taken to the police station to give statements. Now, the police want to identify the people who forced the carriage doors open, risking the lives of other passengers.
According to CPTM, when the emergency lever is activated, the train stops, but only the next door is unlocked. He also said that the movement of other trains is only interrupted after analysis by the Operational Control Center. The train that ran over a 64-year-old man was coming in the opposite direction.

There are 22 official languages in India. Then there are a few sub-languages used by small tribes and rest are categorized as dialects. Portugese people controlled the tiny state of Goa but they lost it in 1961. Even then the working class didn't speak Portugese. That language has had almost no effect on Indian languages ever.
Also Indian subways have digital boards showing station names in 3/4 languages (English, Hindi, a local language and in some places Urdu). Indians die by trains all the time but there's no way this particular video is from India.
