According to videos I've seen on this site the best course of action is this.

Bang on drivers car like a monkey, disregard injured party.
Upon assisting injured party, ensure you pick them up and move the body around.
If they are not immediately responsive, proceed to vigorously shake injured party by neck, and swing them around to wake them up.
Do not attempt to tourniquet any wounds or limit bleeding.
If possible, have several women available to shriek and wail loudly while contributing nothing else to the situation.

Now you know, and knowing is half the battle!
