James W. Evanson, 75, and his wife Lisa K. Evanson, 67, both of Santa Fe, New Mexico, were identified as the pilot and passenger, respectively. Federal Aviation Administration says Evanson reported engine trouble minutes before the crash.
The plane took off from Santa Fe, New Mexico and was scheduled to land about the time it crashed.
Autopsy on James Evanson shows he experienced multiple blunt force trauma injuries. He was initially conscious on scene but suffered severe and detrimental internal bleeding and broken bones that were not sustainable in the short term. Autopsy on Lisa Evanson showed she experienced multiple blunt force trauma injuries that were not consistent with life and died instantly.
