The accident occurred on November 5 at the 10th kilometer of the Kochkoma — Kostomuksha highway in the Segezha district of Karelia. The tanker drove off the road into a ditch and overturned. The driver of the tractor died at the scene. The moment of the accident was caught in the lens of an eyewitness's DVR.
Pavel Siikonen, an eyewitness, tells us:
"A tanker truck flew out to meet us, it flew out. His speed was too high for such road conditions — there was a wet snow porridge on the road, snowfall. He was shaken up, and he was flying straight at us, but apparently a full tank pulled him into a ditch, there was a fuel spill from the tank. We called 112, called rescuers, went with the driver of the stopped truck to find out the driver's condition, but he was without signs of life..."
