Car loses control on the road and crashes into oncoming truck

Volzhsky district, Russia

February 19, 2023

On the afternoon of February 19, at 13:36, a fatal accident occurred in the Volzhsky district, near the village of Pridorozhny on 5 km of the Samara Bypass highway.

The VAZ-2107 car crashed into a Scania truck that was moving in the oncoming lane. Video footage posted online shows how the car suddenly heads into oncoming traffic – it turns 180 degrees from the impact, and the car pulls over to the side of the road. The truck stops without significant damage.

According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in the Samara region, one person was killed and one injured in the accident. There were 6 people working at the accident site. Fire and rescue units conducted de-energization of vehicles.
