A gas station attendant died after being hit by a car, this Thursday morning (25). Images from the establishment's security cameras show when the employee, identified as Antônio, was sitting in a chair and ran before being hit squarely in the back. The accident occurred on Avenida Raimundo de Aquino, in Vila Pai Eterno, in Trindade (Metropolitan Region of Goiânia).
Before reaching Antônio, the red vehicle 'runs' the stop sign at the roundabout and crashes into an official car from Trindade City Hall. The driver loses control and appears to accelerate towards the station, where the victim worked. According to the Fire Department, the gas station attendant was taken to the Trindade State Hospital (Eutrin) with polytrauma and cardiorespiratory arrest, however he did not survive and died in the unit.
As determined by G5 News from people who saw the accident, the driver of the red car may have confused the pedals after the first crash and was therefore unable to brake to avoid the impact. There were three other people inside the car, but no one was seriously injured. The driver remained at the scene during the incident.
In a statement, Trindade City Hall reported that "the driver who was involved in the accident is well, had no injuries and is fine. According to the images provided by the gas station, the driver who drove the city car was normally following the Avenida Raimundo de Aquino and, while turning, he was hit by the driver of the other vehicle. According to SMT agents, he did not violate any traffic rules", says the text.

Stupid guy working at the gas station actually moved INTO the path of the little pickup truck.
And what a moron. There is a car barrelling towards him - and what does he do to save his own life? He runs in THE SAME DIRECTION the car is travelling. All he had to do was run 40 mph to outrun that car - OR, he could have simply stepped to his left, or even leaned back while sitting, and raised his legs.
But no - he runs the same direction the car is travelling. Brilliant.
