Through social networks, a video was disseminated showing the exact moment in which a woman loses her life after being brutally run over by a dump truck that was circulating through the streets of the Tláhuac district in Mexico City, and what has caused the most indignation is that the person responsible fled, so the case has caused a great commotion on digital platforms.These unfortunate events occurred around 11:40 a.m. on Monday, April 1 at the intersection of La Turba and Guillermo Prieto avenues in the La Draga neighborhood of Tlahuac, where a woman was about to cross the street, however, when she was right in the middle of the asphalt, she was brutally rammed by a dump truck.
In the powerful images broadcast on digital platforms it could be seen that the heavy unit dragged the young woman for several meters until it ran over her tires and finally unhooked her leaving her lying on the asphalt and the truck operator did not stop his march and fled the area at full speed.
These tragic events were witnessed by dozens of people who were in the area, who immediately requested the attention of the authorities. Some of the witnesses also indicated to the uniformed officers the characteristics of the unit that ran over the woman, which was the key to initiate the investigations.
It is worth mentioning that, despite the quick arrival of the emergency teams, nothing could be done to save the life of the 26 year old woman, and it took several minutes to locate some of her relatives so that they could take care of the funeral arrangements.
Through a press release, the Secretariat of Public Safety of Mexico City announced that after an effective investigation and support from C2 Oriente, the unit involved in these events was located in a property located on Tláhuac Avenue and Santa Cruz Street in the Santa Ana Poniente neighborhood, where a 27 year old man was arrested for his probable responsibility in the hit-and-run of the 26 year old woman.
The dump truck and the detainee were placed at the disposal of the authorities and it is expected that in the next few hours an agent of the Public Prosecutor's Office will define his legal situation, for now, the detainee will be treated as innocent until the authorities determine otherwise.

You don't just look left then right before walking. You look left, right, and left again because in the time it took you to look right is more than enough time for another vehicle to appear from a side-street or whatever. People never learn this, for some reason. Gambling a saved second or two against your life never made sense to me.

You look in the direction of traffic to make sure it's clear, then you look to the opposite side to make sure no dumbass is going the wrong way, then you check the direction of traffic again to make sure it's safe move, unless it's a two way street, then the look for opposite side oncoming traffic is just a normal check.
So In her case it would be left right left, and move, and maybe a moment to judge the speed of traffic, if she had been looking left, she would have had time to jump back, or press forward and hope for the best.. looking right, whatever was coming was unknown until she felt the tires crush her to death, and if her brain was untouched, a realization she was about to die

When I make a left turn driving a car I look right first for oncoming traffic and pedestrians. Then look left and if it's not clear I keep checking.
Once on Halloween I almost got ran over running around trick-or-treating houses

She didn't look right because that side of the road was one-way with traffic only coming from the left, which is where the truck came from. But she was stupid and didn't keep looking left, because the truck pulled out of a side street. She just figured that traffic would stop for her.
Kinda like the stupid pedestrian that I almost hit the other day. She had right of way, but I couldn't see her because of where she was coming from. She yelled at me that she had right of way. I yelled back "we'll put 'she had right-of-way' on your tombstone."
