Mexico | A helicopter lost control and crashes, killing 5 including the state security chief - 17 November 2022 (aftermath in post)

Aftermath:

The Secretary of Public Security of Aguascalientes, Porfirio Sánchez, the pilot Olegario Andrade, Captain Víctor Manuel Valdés, and the gunners, Juan Humberto Rincón and Alejandro Guerrero, died on Thursday after the helicopter in which they were traveling crashed for reasons that are still unknown. The aircraft crashed early in the morning in the municipality of Jesús María, 11 kilometers from the state capital, while returning from a surveillance operation on the border with Zacatecas. Authorities have not been able to explain the causes of the tragedy, although they insist on the accident version as the most probable at this point.

"The pilot, in a heroic manner, made maneuvers to fall in a vacant lot and not in a populated place. We are not going to lower our guard, the security of the state is guaranteed", assured the governor of Aguascalientes, Teresa Jiménez, who pointed out that "everything seems to indicate that it was an accident". The images were recorded by security cameras in the area; they show how the helicopter, model AS350 B3 and property of the state police forces, plunges uncontrolled to the ground, impacts with its nose forward and generates a violent explosion of smoke and fire around it. The identity of the victims and the inexplicable crash of an aircraft that should have been in optimal conditions have raised suspicions about what happened.
