On Saturday night, a tragic accident occurred in Guayacanes, belonging to Juan Dolio, San Pedro de Macorís.
A woman, identified only as Cintia, was hit by a Yipeta while she was trying to cross the highway.
The incident, which took place around 10:55 p.m., resulted in the loss of Cintia's life due to the severity of her injuries.
The driver of the vehicle, fearing for his safety in the face of possible aggression from the crowd present at the scene of the accident, went with a motorcycle taxi to the police to surrender.
The mayor of Guayacanes issued a note of condolence for the loss of Cintia. The mayor, Noel Cedeño, expressed his regret for the tragedy:
A security camera captured the tragic moment, showing the woman in question, trying to cross the street with other people, when a vehicle, apparently traveling at excessive speed, hits her head-on, throwing her several meters.
