This is a crazy freak accident! I mean, not that it happened, because the guy was an idiot. I mean that the flames engulfed it so fast.

What kind of car was that?

Infinity sport vehicles are infamous for going up in flames after crashing.

They just put shitloads of money to buy the good press.

Same goes for cheap models from Nissan.

[BTW, I work in corporate insurance...]

Is the "Altima Driver" phenomenon true one the insurance end? Have you personally seen it?

I've seen some bad drivers with Altimas, Sentras, Maximas, and even Versas. Half the time the cars have damage and it seems the owners/drivers just don't give a damn.

If Infiniti and Nissan vehicles are known for turning in fireballs after a bad accident I'm staying away from those brands. Are these mostly new models that have this issue?

Infinities are bad in general, but the more powerful models seem to have more problems on average.

Nissans are bad at the lower level - Sentras and Versas. Altimas follows. The Rogue seems to be okay.

Cause of death was officially ruled to be blunt force injuries, so the fire probably made no real difference in the outcome.
