I believe there are situations where the company would PREFER that people come by and walk off with all the beer they can carry.

I suspect it will save the company on costs to clean up the mess, and I figure the company can't safely put any of that product back on the shelves.

Bits of glass will be hidden in the cartons, some bottles might have the beginnings of fractures in the glass that make them likely to explode if not handled super carefully.

But people who walk off with a case of beer can't complain to the company if a bottle explodes on them, or they cut themselves on shards of broken glass.

I'd guess that it's not the beer company itself that bares the cost in a case such as this, but insurance
