Police are investigating after a cyclist was killed in a collision with a dump truck in downtown Vancouver Wednesday morning.
The accident happened at the intersection of Pacific and Hornby streets around 7:30 a.m.
The 28-year-old male cyclist died at the scene after efforts to save his life were unsuccessful.
Police say the truck driver is co-operating with the investigation, and investigators do not believe speed or impairment were factors.

Everyone needs to understand one thing about HGV & long vehicles - THEY HAVE TON OF BLINDSPOTS. They have a look & think they're clear but if you're way too close or at a certain angle then your life's really dependent on your guardian angel & luck 🤷♂️

Driver wasn't being reckless at all. Made a perfectly legal turn. The biker was in a blind spot and way to close to the truck. No common sense.

Damn if he had stopped just a second earlier that tire wouldn't have ran him over. Of course the cyclist is at fault though. Shouldn't have been that close to the truck.
