Why would you try and move the whole fucking vehicle instead of just grabbing the kid? And then you immediately blame the driver for your failure as a parent. You’re the one physically with the kid, not the driver. Fucking , man.

It happened so fast. I would not have been able to react that quickly either. Wishing for her peace because holy shit that was traumatizing.

it's like no one on this website has heard of the concept of panic

maybe not, but we've certainly heard of the common sense it takes to grab your still-learning-to-walk, unsteady child who just got out of his car seat and didn't even have time to actually catch his balance

React quickly? I've seen sloth's move faster. If my kid even started to stumble they're over my shoulder in a half second.

I hope you give yourself grace because you will not be able to prevent every single thing. Accidents happen. People get tired and it can affect reaction time. As a new mom I was a zombie. At the age that kid was in the video, mine had a younger sibling and I got no sleep. It happens. The parent shaming is unreal. He’s a healthy, well-cared for child, she does take great care of him, but she just wasn’t fast enough this time.

Reaction time aside, just don't let go of children next to vehicles. It's bad news all around and if you ever drive machinery you're taught to stay at least 2 metres away from anything that moves, because of drivers not seeing you.

Her first instinct with her obviously-unsteady child was to turn her back and walk away while they stood just inches from the street so I'd say her motherly instincts aren't very sharp.
