Yeah i am, I've always got an eye on my kids, cuz i care about them. and i get freak accidents. This was not a freak accident, it's not like the truck fell out of the sky on them, the children were hiding in boxes in the middle of a road, had most likely been playing with the box there for a while. It's a wonder how the other side of the world is so highly populated with parents like that.

just the way it is my g. these days north american parents are way too over protective. they dont let their children unsupervised. its even a crime to do so. i heard of cases where people called the police upon seeing unsupervised children playing outside - and they came and called cps even. there was a case in canada too where a guy let his children commute to school by themselves - something completely normal in every other part of the world - yet cps threatened to take away his kids.

I was gonna say the same thing. American helicopter parenting is a thing and it’s some serious boomer shit.
It’s also ironic that American parent of all people would behave this way considering their kids are already in one of the safest areas of the world. But third world parents just let their kids do their thing and they turn out ok.
I didn’t have my parents hovering over me as a kid growing up in Mexico and I’m very happy about that.

Let me tell you a popular story amongs our friends and family.
Distant cousin is learning drive, maybe 15 or 16. His father in the passenger seat. The teenager hits a box in a parking lot. His dad immediately punches him and scolds him. "Hey dumbass! Why you ran over those boxes, kids could had been playing in that box"
Days later, the teenager still mad over it. His dad is driving on the road when his dad ran over a White Castle's cheesburger container. The boy punches the dad in the arm "HEY, KIDS COULD HAD BEEN PLAYING IN THAT BOX!"
